Starting with payments 77 and onwards to the Virunga Fund, Go Gorilla has taken one of many steps to support the ICCN, Virunga Fund, and development of the local region. All through the help and engagement of our travellers!
Only roughly one and a half months have passed since Mt. Nyiragongo hikes to the rim of the active volcano has reopened to travellers. As Instinct Safaris, we were able to make the first series of bookings and payments to Virunga National Park in the course of planning safari for our first travellers to the world’s largest lava lake at 3,470 m. With the reopening of the park, the Virunga Fund can count on releasing much of their recent financial stress, which was previously only covered with donations. Now, starting with payments 77 and onwards, Instinct Safaris has taken one of many steps to support the ICCN, Virunga Fund, and development of the local region.
With the help of our interested travellers, hiking trips or extensions to Mt. Nyiragongo in the far east of DR Congo, we will be able to continue supporting eco-tourism in the region as it gains momentum in one of the politically most fragile regions of our operations.
Are you looking for more information about visas to DR Congo or accommodation, bathroom facilities, and meals on top of the volcano? Please don’t hesitate to ask us or contact Visit Virunga for help.
